" Last week I ordered takeout and found the experience delightful! The service was quick, and the food was plentiful. The chicken balls were crispy, and the fried rice was light. I loved that everything was freshly cooked; I genuinely felt like I was indulging in home-cooked food. I'm all about supporting small business, and New York Cafe deserves more of that support! " I ate here for the first time with a group of friends last night. I can’t say it was impressive. The food overall was edible, but that is about it. The egg rolls were mostly filled with cabbage, and the chicken chow mein was a letdown; there were no noodles at all! I understand that some say their chicken balls are good, so that’s what I’ll sample next time. Service was nice enough but very slow, especially for how busy they appeared. I'm on the fence about returning. " (*Curated Review*)

" I recently tried New York Cafe for the first time after hearing mixed reviews. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and was pleasantly surprised! The sauce had a good balance and the chicken was tender. However, the egg rolls left a lot to be desired; they were mostly bland. Service was fine, nothing to write home about, but I would still give it another shot to explore more of their menu. Overall, a decent experience but not outstanding. " (*Curated Review*)

" Absolutely clownish experience! Don’t get me started on the chicken balls, which were the worst I’ve ever tasted. They tasted off and mushy, which makes me wonder about their hygiene practices. The references to 'chow mein' are so misleading; why didn’t I just stick to what I know? Service was dishearteningly indifferent, which made the visit even more unbearable. Spare yourself the trouble and try anywhere else. " (*Curated Review*)

" A hidden gem in Napanee! I've recently moved here, and after trying several local restaurants, this one surprised me! The lemon chicken was flavorful and nicely cooked, and I loved the combination of vegetables in the beef stir fry. It may not be the most authentic Chinese I've ever had, but it has a charm that makes you want to come back. Staff were friendly and efficient, although the wait time could be a bit long when busy. Overall, I will definitely be returning! " (*Curated Review*)

" This should have been the night! We finally had the chance to try New York Cafe. Unfortunately, disappointment reigned high. The chicken was overcooked, the rice tasted old, and what they billed as chow mein was not even close to what we imagined. The lack of staff awareness made it easy to feel neglected. Maybe I just had bad luck, but I wouldn't risk it again. " (*Curated Review*)

" New York Cafe has become my comfort food haven! Their sweet and sour combo is filling, but I do wish the portions were slightly larger, especially with how often I crave it! The classic décor feels nostalgic, and I love how they're slow to modernize it. Can't wait to order again next week. " (*Curated Review*)
