Bonchon Allston offers a predominantly authentic experience for those seeking Korean fried chicken. Many customers enjoy the unique flavors and textures of the fried chicken, with particular praise for the soy garlic and spicy versions. " My recent experience at Bonchon was quite disappointing. I've visited multiple times before and loved it, but this time, the chicken was overcooked and dry, which is not what I've come to expect. The soy garlic sauce was scarce, and I didn't appreciate the portion sizes. Additionally, the service was quite rude; it felt like the staff were overwhelmed and not caring. I hope they can return to their former glory because this chain has so much potential. " (*Curated Review*)
" Visiting Bonchon was quite an experience! The first time I tried their wings, I instantly fell in love with the crispy coating and flavor of the soy garlic. However, I had the chance to invite a friend and on this visit, the chicken wasn't as fresh as before, and the service lacked enthusiasm. I also noticed the fries were served cold. I feel like this location has fluctuated greatly in quality. I really hope they return to how they used to be because the basics of good fried chicken are there. " (*Curated Review*)
" Absolutely love Bonchon! I often order for takeout and the food is always delicious. Their wings are a must-try - I go for the half and half, soy garlic and spicy, which provides the best flavor combo. I've had the bulgogi fried rice too and it was excellent! Sometimes, the wait for my order takes longer than expected, but the end result is always worth it. The only concern I've had is that the prices have increased lately, but the quality still makes it justifiable. I highly recommend this place if you're craving quality Korean fried chicken! " Bonchon is definitely the king of fried chicken spots I’ve visited in Boston no doubt! The soy garlic wings were dripping with sauce, just how I love them. I also had the bulgogi beef - it was tender and flavorful, I loved it. The staff were welcoming and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend it if you're in the area and love authentic Korean fried chicken. Can’t wait for my next visit! " (*Curated Review*)
" Last night, Bonchon blew me away! The wings were incredibly crunchy yet tender, bathed in the most delicious spicy sauce. We ordered the family meal which came with plenty of food for three of us. I loved the fried rice but the pickled radish was the winning side - such a great palate cleanser! The service was quick, but I should warn others that it can get crowded later in the evening. Be ready to wait! However, it is totally worth it for such amazing flavors. I’ll be back soon! " (*Curated Review*)
" Had a long day and figured some takeout from Bonchon would hit the spot. While the chicken was decent and the flavor was good, I had a small issue with my order. I had ordered extra spicy and the chicken I received was not spicy at all. Disappointing! The staff were polite but not as attentive as I would have liked. I’ve had better experiences here, but I do love their food! " (*Curated Review*)
" I'm not sure what happened to Bonchon; I used to love it! I tried their chicken after a few months and it was not the same. It was dry and lacked flavor. I also felt the place could have been cleaner. The service was okay but not welcoming. I miss how this place used to be. I hope they get back to their roots because Korean fried chicken is such a treat when done right. " (*Curated Review*)
