" Having heard so many good things about Don Pepe, I found myself trying it for the first time last week. The atmosphere was lively, albeit a bit noisy, but I can forgive that since the food was so good. I got the fajitas, and they were bursting with flavor, paired with fresh salsa. The only downside was the wait for my food; it took a little longer than anticipated, but the wait was worthwhile. The friendly attitude of the staff, however, made the experience pleasant. " My experience at Don Pepe was delightful! The autentico mole enchiladas were exquisite! The blend of spices was perfect, and each component complemented one another wonderfully. The tortillas that accompanied them were freshly made. They have a lovely family-owned vibe that adds to the charm of this place. Definitely one of my favorite spots now! Can't wait to bring my friends along! " (*Curated Review*)
" Don Pepe is a fantastic find! Affordable prices, cozy, warm environment, and scrumptious food. My favorites were the creamy mole enchiladas and ceviche—so fresh and well-prepared. I also loved the house-made tortillas, which just made the tacos that much better. I would recommend visiting for brunch on weekends; just be prepared for the crowd. The service was friendly and attentive even with a full house. I intend to return soon! " (*Curated Review*)
" Don Pepe is unlike any other spot in the city! It is truly a hole-in-the-wall gem that offers a taste of Mexico you won’t find in many places. The first bite of my pollo mole reminded me of the rich culinary heritage this restaurant embodies. Everything from their beverages to the main courses paired beautifully. Service was friendly and engaging; the owner even stopped by our table to chat! However, I wasn’t impressed by the freshness of the tortilla chips. They tasted like they had been sitting for a while. Despite that, this has become one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I look forward to returning for breakfast tacos! " (*Curated Review*)
" I was astounded by the freshness of the food at Don Pepe! From the moment we arrived, the vibrant décor set a perfect backdrop for our meal. The tacos were made with homemade tortillas, and each bite burst with flavor. I ordered the carnitas and asked for extra salsas, which were all house-made—such a nice touch! The dining area is cozy but clean, making the experience pleasant overall. My only suggestion would be to expand the dessert menu. I will certainly return to try more dishes and bring friends along for a taste. " (*Curated Review*)
" I love Don Pepe! The breakfast tacos are filling and made with fresh local ingredients. The staff is super friendly and very quick at serving. The environment is light and welcoming, perfect for catching up with friends over brunch. The only downside was that my consistency of beans with my meal was a bit off; some were great while others weren't as flavorful. Still, the overall experience was amazing! " (*Curated Review*)
" I have to say I was disappointed with my visit to Don Pepe based on its reputation. While the tamales were okay, I found them a bit too heavy on masa and lacking in filling. The salsa served with the chilaquiles felt more like it came from a bottle rather than being house-made, which was disappointing. The service was great, however, and the restaurant was clean and cozy. I might consider giving it another shot but perhaps with different items. " (*Curated Review*)
