" My first visit to Ichiban Express was a rushed one, and unfortunately, it left me feeling let down. The staff were welcoming, but the food lacked any form of seasoning or genuine flavor that made me rethink this establishment. I found it to be a generic fast-food rendition of what was supposed to be hibachi. Though the portions were generous, I think it's time for them to redo their recipes...or take some culinary classes. " Very disappointed with my first experience at Ichiban Express. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the less-than-inviting atmosphere. Once I sat down, my order took a while to come, and when it did, it was cold! The food certainly didn't taste fresh, and I was left questioning the authenticity of this so-called hibachi. " Surprisingly, Ichiban delivered my takeout quickly while providing me with fair portions and friendly service. I decided to order the house special lo mein and a side of dumplings, and they didn’t disappoint! While they were great at fulfilling the veggie requirements, the flavor was undeniably mundane. I must say while I appreciate the etiquette and follow-through from the staff, I’ve had better experiences at competing restaurants. " Last month, I decided to order takeout from Ichiban Express, and honestly, it didn't disappoint me. The shrimp and chicken hibachi were decent in taste, and the portions were generous enough that I could have leftovers the next day. Nevertheless, I feel that the dishes could use more seasoning to elevate the flavors further. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty strong on the sweetness side compared to what I previously had at other hibachi spots in Wilmington.
