" I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times, and each experience has been very different! On my last visit, the food was delightful. I enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Baker which was packed with flavors. It's a sizeable dish that can easily feed two people! However, the service was lacking that night, as it took a long time for my order to be taken and then even longer for the food to arrive. Another time, though, the staff was extraordinarily courteous and attentive. So, I’d say it’s hit or miss regarding service. " Wow, Al's Deli is a food lover’s paradise! Even though the place is small and not particularly fancy, the flavors are out of this world! The bakers were overall fantastic; I had the BBQ chicken Baker, which was delectable! The portions are truly large, often enough for two. Service, unfortunately, did need some improvement – I had to wait longer for service than I'm comfortable with. Still, I really appreciated the experience overall and will be back for sure! " What a hidden gem! This deli offers some of the best Mediterranean food I've had outside of a big city. My personal favorite is the chicken shish tawook – so flavorful! Portion sizes are generous, and the outdoor seating is lovely during the evenings. The only downfall was the service; my friends and I sat for a while before anyone came to take our orders. " If you're near UAB, Al's is a great choice for a quick meal. I often grab their stylized salads, which are tasty and come in huge portions. The hummus is also a must-try. My only complaint is that sometimes the wait for orders can be frustratingly long. However, I've found eating there during less busy hours helps avoid that.
