" As a huge fan of Chinese food, I thought I’d try China Border based on some friends' recommendations. First of all, the place is smaller than I expected and felt quite cramped. Upon arrival, we were ignored for about 10 minutes before being greeted. Our waiter was pleasant enough but seemed stretched thin. The food, however, was a delight! The house special fried rice was flavorful and had generous portions, though it didn't have as many vegetables as I would have liked. " I was really looking forward to my visit to China Border, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The service was quite slow despite not being busy. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, and while the flavors were decent, the dish was a bit bland. I expected more heat given the name. However, the dumplings were fantastic! " I can't say enough good things about China Border! The Szechuan prawns are the best I've had outside of a major city. The service, however, varied on my three visits. On one occasion, I was completely forgotten for almost half an hour, which wasn't great. But on another day, I was met with swift service from an attentive waiter who checked on us regularly. I also had the hot and sour soup, which was, unfortunately, not spicy at all. Overall, if you're willing to overlook service hiccups, the food is well worth it! " (*Curated Review*)
