" This place has potential, but it fell short for me. I ordered the egg rolls, and they were pretty oily with a rather bland flavor. The crab rangoon was also disappointing, filled with mashed potatoes rather than the expected creamy mixture. Despite the mix-up with my order, the owner was very kind and tried to make it right. Maybe if they offer more authentic dishes and cut down on the sweetness in their dishes, they could really thrive. But for now, I don’t think I shall return anytime soon. " I’ve always been local to the area, and I wanted to support this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite deliver. The fried rice was tasteless and the sweet flavors in most dishes seemed out of place. The crab rangoons lacked the sumptuous filling I required and tasted rather plain. The owner was kind, but I believe a change is necessary in terms of ingredients and flavors to pull in more customers. I hope they consider some feedback as this little place deserves better! " New China is a clean and well-kept place, but sadly, it lacks the flavor and authenticity that I was looking for. The egg rolls were oily and the filling felt mushy rather than crispy and fresh. Furthermore, the general Tso's tasted more like a spiced barbecue sauce instead of the traditional flavor. The owner was nice and attentive, which I appreciated, but until they improve their menu, it will be hard to recommend them to others. Date: 2024-01-18 15:00:00 " (*Curated Review*)
" My recent visit to New China was filled with ups and downs. Although the restaurant is very inviting, the food lacked the authenticity you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. My shrimp lo mein was substituted with ramen noodles which surprised me; it didn't match what I envisioned. The portion was fair, and the atmosphere is charming, but I did struggle with the overall experience. I think they need to address their food standards for would-be customers to consider them as a top choice. Post time: 2024-08-10 17:00:00 " (*Curated Review*)
" I was recommended New China by a friend. Upon arrival, I was met with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. However, the food was a letdown. The wonton soup tasted too sweet for my liking, and I found it alarming that ground beef was used in the wonton filling. The general Tso’s chicken didn’t resemble traditional general Tso’s and was merely a mess of sweetness. I had hope for this place, but I am uncertain if I will give it another try. " I have to say I was very disappointed with the food. I’ve tried many Chinese restaurants and was hoping this would be a great addition to the local options. The egg rolls were greasy, and the crab rangoon tasted more like mashed potatoes than crab and cream cheese. I spoke to the owner, who was friendly and welcoming, but it didn't make up for the food that was lacking. If they offered a more authentic menu, I think they’d attract more customers. Will be looking for better options elsewhere. Posting time: 2024-05-20 10:30:00 " (*Curated Review*)
" The first time I visited New China, I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. The owner is very welcoming and there's a homey vibe in this small establishment. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to those initial impressions. The chicken dishes tasted overly sweet, and some items did not resemble what you'd typically expect at an authentic Chinese restaurant. For instance, instead of traditional dumplings, I received oddly flavored wannabe dumplings, that left me with a strange aftertaste. I’m unsure if I’ll go back as there are better options nearby.
