" This place truly feels like a slice of France in Montreal. I was particularly enamored with the ambiance; it felt classy without being pretentious. I had the beef bourguignon which was wonderfully rich and hearty. Unfortunately, I found the portions a bit on the smaller side, but the taste made up for it. Overall, I had a lovely experience with great service. " (*Curated Review*)
" I was excited to try Au Petit Extra, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The pate was unremarkable and the main was lackluster. The charm of the French ambiance helped, but the food really needs to shine in a place like this. Service was attentive but truthfully we went for the food first, and I felt let down. " I love the charm of Au Petit Extra! The decor screamed old-world French, and I truly felt like I was in Paris. The food did not disappoint either; we thoroughly enjoyed escargots and steak frites. My one complaint would be about the wait; we had a long line for a table despite having a reservation. Nonetheless, the attentive service made it worthwhile! " (*Curated Review*)
" Au Petit Extra is a lovely spot. We felt at home as soon as we entered. The staff was welcoming, and though the service was a little slow, it was very polite. The French onion soup was rich and flavorful, while the main courses were quite delicious. I'd love to come back and explore more of the menu! " (*Curated Review*)
" I had the most wonderful evening at Au Petit Extra! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance transported us straight to Paris. Our server was attentive and gave excellent wine recommendations that perfectly paired with our dishes. The duck confit was divine, melting in my mouth. I absolutely loved their crème brûlée too; it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. I can’t wait to come back! " (*Curated Review*)
" I visited Au Petit Extra for brunch and was charmed by the quaint decor and the warm, welcoming staff. The French toast was superb, and I must recommend the house-made jam! I felt the portions were generous for the price, but some items lacked a little in presentation. Nevertheless, it’s a lovely place to gather with friends, and I’ll definitely be back for lunch! " Simply put, this restaurant is an institution of French cuisine in Montreal. Each visit I've make has been consistently delightful; the service is friendly, and the food is simply delectable! My favorite is the pâté, which is always rich and flavorful. The only downside is it can get crowded, but the ambiance makes it enjoyable. I'd recommend making a reservation! " (*Curated Review*)
