Mona Lisa offers a unique dining experience in the French Quarter with a cozy ambiance adorned with various interpretations of the Mona Lisa. The food, while praised for its flavor and large portions, has drawn mixed reactions regarding its authenticity; some diners report it being an Italian-American fusion rather than strictly authentic Italian cuisine. The service is generally friendly but can be inconsistent. Overall, many customers express a strong desire to return.

" We had an amazing dinner at Mona Lisa. My husband ordered the lasagna and I ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were incredible! The distinct flavors stood out and complemented each other well. The service also added to the experience; they were attentive and friendly. I would say the only downside was finding parking but if you plan ahead, you’ll enjoy a wonderful meal. It's relaxed but inviting, a perfect meal stop when visiting New Orleans. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good Italian fare! " (*Curated Review*)
" Eat here! I have gone multiple times during my travels and can confidently say that the vibe and energy are simply unmatched. There’s a lively yet warm atmosphere as the staff engage with you while you dine. I opted for the eggplant parmigiana this time and it was loaded with flavor! Don’t get me started on the garlic bread—pure bliss! Every bite was satisfying. I highly recommend hanging around post-meal as it’s a great spot to unwind. The restaurant’s aim appears to be offering more than just meals, and they absolutely succeed! Whether you're a local or visiting, you must check this place out! " (*Curated Review*)
" My dining experience at Mona Lisa was decent, but I had higher expectations. The service was friendly, but it was incredibly slow during our visit. The food was okay; I ordered the marinara pasta and it felt a bit bland compared to what I've had at other Italian restaurants. The atmosphere is cozy and artistic with paintings everywhere, which adds a charming touch. I might consider giving it another shot, but I’d want to try something different from what I ordered this time. Perhaps the pizza that others seem to rave about. " (*Curated Review*)
" Honestly, I don't understand what the hype is about. I expected a real Italian experience, but to me, it felt more like a diner than a restaurant. I ordered a pasta dish, and the sauce tasted like it came from a jar rather than being freshly made. The wait was long, although I understand weekends can get busy in the Quarter. To be fair, the ambiance was cute; I appreciated the attempt at an artful setting with all the Mona Lisa paintings, but for Italian food, I will be looking elsewhere next time. My expectations for flavor versus what I received just did not align. " (*Curated Review*)
" I’ve been a regular at Mona Lisa for years, and it never disappoints! The lasagna is a must-have every time I visit. It’s homemade, hearty, and absolutely packed with flavor, paired with a delightful garlic bread that complements each bite. The atmosphere is a quaint hideaway away from the bustling streets of New Orleans, making it a lovely date night venue. Although the menu does carry some traditional items, I think they’ve added their spin on several dishes which some may find diverging from true Italian cuisine. The prices are reasonable considering the generous portion sizes. Do not miss out on their tiramisu for dessert; it’s fantastic! " (*Curated Review*)
" Mona Lisa is the perfect hidden gem in the French Quarter. I loved the pizza so much I ended up getting a second order! The crust was deliciously crispy! I was seated quickly, and our waitress was delightful and kept coming back to check on us. I would recommend pairing the pizza with their marinara for a kick! Left feeling satisfied and happy; there's something special about this little restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough to those in NOLA looking for good vibes and great food. " (*Curated Review*)
" I was recommended to visit Mona Lisa but I have mixed feelings about my time there. The server was friendly and accommodating, but my food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the pasta primavera and found it to be rather bland compared to other restaurants I've visited. The atmosphere is bursting with character and charm, making it worth stopping by for a drink at least. I'm torn...while I loved the quirky decor, the food needs serious improvement. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, who knows! " (*Curated Review*)
