" We had a lovely dinner at Serendib, but the food didn’t quite meet our expectations based on previous reviews. The samosas were great, very different from what we usually find elsewhere, but I found the main dishes to be a bit bland. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service was attentive. " Having traveled extensively, I have experienced a wide range of cuisines, and I can say that Serendib serves delightful dishes that embody a delightful blend of flavors. The Sri Lankan fried rice was my favorite! However, I felt that some of the entrees were too similar to their Indian counterparts. The service was friendly, folding us into the family atmosphere immediately. The setting was vibrant and colorful. It really had a nice vibe going, except the noise level was a bit high. " The food here is truly a culinary experience! I loved the unique take on Sri Lankan dishes. The beef curry was just bursting with flavor and had a perfect balance of spice. Although, I must say, the portions were a tad on the smaller side for the price you pay. The service was impeccable, with our drinks refilled promptly and our server checking in on us often. " Trying Serendib was one of the highlights of our trip to Maine! The atmosphere is so laid-back and charming, it felt like stepping into a friend's home. The highlight was definitely the individual care from the waitstaff, who were quick to make recommendations that did not disappoint. I ordered the butter chicken, and it was some of the best I’ve ever tasted! The spices were perfectly blended, and every bite was delicious. " I was really excited to try Serendib given all the rave reviews, but my experience was mixed. The samosas we ordered as an appetizer were a twist on the traditional, wrapped in phyllo instead of the usual dough. They were tasty, but I missed the classic texture. For the main course, I had the lamb curry which came with just a tiny scoop of rice. While the lamb was tender, I found the curry a bit too spicy and lacking depth of flavor. The service was friendly and the ambiance cozy, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed overall. I'll likely give it another shot, as it seems many others enjoyed their meals more than I did. " There’s a lot to love about Serendib! My family and I really enjoyed our meal. The ambiance was pleasant, and we felt welcomed. I tried the special of the day, which was a daily curry and it was packed with spices and flavors. Though I wished the portion sizes were a bit bigger, it was certainly satisfying enough. The staff made some great recommendations, and our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about how the dishes were prepared. I am looking forward to returning with more friends next time!
