" This place is hit or miss for me. I've had great pupusas in the past while also experiencing bland burritos that were an absolute letdown. The environment is comfortable, but the inconsistency in the food is frustrating. Although it's one of the few Salvadoran restaurants around, I think I may try a different one next time. " As a frequent visitor of Salvadoran restaurants, I can say that Montecristo's offerings are as authentic as it gets outside of El Salvador. The flavors reminded me of home, especially the pupusas and the beef dishes. I do wish the service was slightly better; our waiter seemed overwhelmed with the number of tables. However, I did appreciate the attentive nature of the staff. A solid choice for anyone craving authentic Central American cuisine! " (*Curated Review*)
" Had an excellent dining experience here! The place, although small, delivers on flavors. We ordered several dishes to share — the tamales and the pupusas were standout items. Friendly staff who made great suggestions. It was a great balance of fresh ingredients and authenticity! A little loud, but that added to the lively atmosphere. " (*Curated Review*)
" My friends and I decided to try Restaurante Montecristo last weekend and we were thrilled with our meals! Everyone ordered something different, and each dish was fantastic. Just be warned — the serving sizes were quite large! Even though the ambiance was inviting, we did have to wait longer than expected for our food to arrive. The highlight, however, was the horchata — it was delicious! I would visit again for sure. " (*Curated Review*)
" Had an amazing birthday dinner here! The service was friendly and swift; I felt so welcomed from the moment I walked in. The pupusas were a hit with my friends, and I was pleased to find a flavorful curry dish on the menu too. A cozy spot with a lively and authentic vibe. I will definitely make it a birthday tradition! " I came here for the first time and was really looking forward to the food. The atmosphere was inviting, but the food did not meet my expectations. The pupusas were good but not the best I've had. I was hoping for more depth of flavor, especially in the horchata which was too sweet for my taste. Service was fine, just average. I might give it another shot. " (*Curated Review*)
" Restaurante Montecristo is a gem! My family loves the variety of dishes. We are huge fans of their carne asada and pupusas. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are true to their roots. Prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes. Although we have experienced slower service at times, it’s become our regular spot for takeout. Highly recommend! " (*Curated Review*)
