" Classified as a Japanese restaurant, but after my visit to Kyoto, I am wondering if their chefs are familiar with authentic Japanese flavors at all. The fried rice was mushy and uneatable, while my teriyaki chicken came out bland and poorly plated. With a place like this, it becomes challenging to return. " The other day, my friends and I decided to check out Kyoto for some dinner. Our experience was quite mixed. While the noodles were decent, the chicken was rubbery and flavorless, which was a major letdown. We couldn't understand how a Japanese restaurant could serve such bland food! " At first glance, Kyoto At Virginia appears to have a cozy atmosphere, but that impression quickly fades upon tasting the food. " I was expecting a delightful meal at Kyoto At Virginia based on the reviews I had read online, but my experience did not meet those expectations. The meals we ordered came out lukewarm, which is quite a red flag for any restaurant, especially for a hibachi style where food is supposed to be fresh and hot. The carrots seemed canned and the fresh vegetables I anticipated were nowhere to be found. I tried to communicate my concerns to the staff but felt like I was ignored. " I had a very mixed experience at Kyoto. While some components were decent, such as the shrimp which were cooked fairly well, many other parts really disappointed.
