" I visited Tacos Dolores for the first time and I can't express how amazing the barbacoa tacos were! They were succulent and had this wonderful balance of flavors. I could eat those all day! The service was friendly, but it felt slow as they were busy. I think having more seating would help the experience greatly. " I’m so lucky to have discovered Tacos Dolores Hidalgo! The moment I walked in, the delicious smells welcomed me. I ordered the carnitas and borrego tacos, and they were both fantastic. The portions were satisfying, and I especially loved how the tortillas held everything together without falling apart like other places. My visit was delightful except for the long wait—definitely worth mentioning. They need more staff for busy hours. I would still choose to come back for the amazing quality food. " I can't express how delicious the tacos de borrego are at Tacos Dolores Hidalgo! Every bite is packed with flavor, and it's one of the most authentic taco experiences I've had in Austin. I also tried their menudo, which was rich and hearty; slightly salty, but overall delicious. The only slight issue was the wait during peak hours, where we had to wait quite a while for our order. However, the staff was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely return. Rating-wise, I'm going with 4 for overall—definitely authentic but could work on the service timeframe.
