" We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night, and the wait was worth it. The guacamole was fresh and delicious, and the margaritas were some of the best I've had. The ambiance is lively, and the decorations give a nod to Mexican culture. The service we received was friendly, but it took a bit longer for our food to arrive. I had the mole poblano which was rich and flavorful, a dish that truly felt homemade. On the downside, it took longer than expected to be seated despite having a reservation. " Chavez has quickly become my go-to Mexican restaurant in Rockford! The moment you walk in, the cheerful atmosphere grabs you. I tried their shrimp fajitas, and let me say they were beyond excellent, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. The portions were generous, too! The service was friendly, though they seem to be training new staff. I had to wait a bit after finishing my meal for the check, but the friendly demeanor of my server made it bearable.
