" Celebrated my birthday at Ichiban, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The decor was lovely, lovely shoji screens adding a nice touch. The sushi was reasonably good; however, some rolls were on the mushy side, not what I expected. The service was friendly, but everything felt rushed. " I’ve been dining at Ichiban for years now, and I can safely say it’s hit or miss. Recently, the sushi didn’t taste fresh, and I was really looking forward to it. I ordered a hibachi meal that was satisfying but not exceptional. I did enjoy the sake though. The servers were attentive, but I noticed a decline in quality across the board. " I visited Ichiban with a group of friends. The ambiance was dark and not as lively as previous visits. I tried sushi, and while most pieces tasted fine, I couldn't get over a few that seemed old.
