Osaka Japanese Express

Japanese Restaurant $$ 4.1 (132)

Osaka Japanese Express is a mixed dining experience that offers some authentic dishes but struggles with quality and service consistency. Customers appreciate the generous portion sizes but note that their expectations for authentic Japanese cuisine are often not met with the flavors and preparation method used.

" Though I had high expectations, my visit did not live up to the hype. The hibachi was decent, but I have tasted better elsewhere. The sushi options seemed limited, and I was not impressed with what I ordered. While the staff was very friendly, the service was somewhat slow. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, which I enjoyed, but the food quality left something to be desired. I likely won’t return. My rating is a 3. " (*Curated Review*)

" We tried Osaka the other night, and while I can't say it was bad, it was also nothing to write home about. The food needed a bit more seasoning, and the sushi was unmemorable. The service and atmosphere were pleasant. If you're looking for something moderately priced in a convenient location, it might work for you, otherwise keep searching for something closer to authentic! " (*Curated Review*)

" The overall dining experience was average. While the food was adequately prepared, I felt that the flavors didn't pop like I would expect from a Japanese restaurant. The service, however, was quite attentive and friendly, which is a plus. The portions were decent, but I think they could emphasize more on authenticity to spice things up. I would suggest considering take-out if you are in the area, but I don’t think I will try again. " (*Curated Review*)

" I can’t express enough how much I enjoyed dining at Osaka Japanese Express! The atmosphere was cozy, making it a nice place to take my family for a meal. For starters, we received generous portions, and the miso soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the hibachi steak, which was grilled to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. My wife had sushi and said it tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, always ensuring our drinks were full. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend the hibachi steak! " (*Curated Review*)

" I visited Osaka with some friends last night, and it was an interesting evening. The atmosphere was nice, but it felt a bit cramped. The service was good initially, but we had to wait a long time for our check. The food was good but lacked the authentic touch. The hibachi steak I ordered was enjoyable, but the rice was unsatisfactory as it just tasted bland. I’m not sure if I’ll be back; it wasn’t terrible, but not memorable either. " (*Curated Review*)

" I went to Osaka on a whim during my lunch break. The service was great—the waiter was very friendly. However, the food was a bit underwhelming; although the portions are quite large, I felt that the flavors didn’t shine as much. I opted for the hibachi chicken, which was cooked well, yet didn't have much seasoning. The sushi could use a flavor boost too. Unfortunately, the whole meal was a mix of ‘it’s okay’ but nothing to rave about. I’d place my review at a 3. " (*Curated Review*)

" Osaka has been one of my favorite spots for sushi in the area. They have a great selection and make an excellent spicy tuna roll. The atmosphere is welcoming and makes for a pleasant dining experience. I’d recommend their tempura shrimp as an appetizer, but beware that it might lack some crispiness occasionally. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get. Overall, I quite enjoy visiting Osaka and would rate it a 4. " (*Curated Review*)
