" Bavya's Indian Kitchen is an interesting spot. On some days it looks accessible and welcoming. Other days, it feels disorganized and below par. My last visit, I had the masala dosa, which was subpar in comparison to what I’ve had at other places. The batter felt old, and rather than crisp, it was soft and unappetizing. " I visited Bavya's last week and was quite surprised at how inconsistent my experience was. Coming in, I was definitely looking for great Indian food, but the chicken tikka masala was extremely oily. The naan was burnt as well, it was rather disappointing given the potential. There was a lot of noise coming from the kitchen area; it seemed chaotic. While the staff was friendly, they looked overwhelmed with the amount of work. " I’ve been trekking to different Indian spots, and Bavya's has a lot of room for improvement. I will say, some dishes reflect authentic tastes, especially a few biryanis I tried. However, my experience was marred by inconsistencies. The spice levels were all over the place: one dish was overly spicy while another lacked any flavor entirely. I was amazed at the variation! " Although Bavya's has an inviting menu, the execution of the food was severely lacking. I tried their goat curry, which was unfortunately very oily and made it hard to enjoy. The rice that accompanied it was extremely dry and did not taste fresh. To make matters worse, the staff wasn't very attentive and I had to wait longer than expected to get my order. " My wife and I finally tried Bavya's for our date night. Expectations were low due to shaky reviews, but I wanted to be optimistic. We both ordered biryanis, which were decent at best. They arrived with no salad or raita, which was odd. The meat was tender, but I couldn't get over the oily texture. The service was decent; our waiter checked in on us a couple of times, which was nice.
