" What a charming little spot! My friends and I decided to visit Hokkai on a whim, and I must say, it was a fantastic decision. I ordered the miso ramen and while it was good, I expected more complexity in the broth. However, my dining companion had the tonkotsu ramen, and I think that was the winner! " Hokkai was an interesting experience. I came in with high hopes but left feeling a little underwhelmed. My ramen was just fine—a solid 3 out of 5, but not something I would rave about. The sushi on my table however was surprisingly better, and I ended up enjoying that more. The staff was friendly but scattered. The place was full so it may have contributed to that. " After hearing rave reviews about Hokkai, my expectations were quite high. I came in on a Friday evening and it was bustling! I tried the spicy ramen, and while it had a decent kick, I wish it had more depth of flavor in the broth. Perfectly cooked noodles though! I also ordered the California roll which was very refreshing. The employees were polite and friendly, though they were clearly very busy.
