" Had a large family gathering and decided on Darbar for takeout. While everyone appreciated the atmosphere when they arrived, many were shocked at how little flavor the dishes had. The biryani was practically just plain rice with a few pieces of chicken, not at all what one expects. I must say that after this experience, I won't be recommending it to anyone. " This restaurant has been recommended to me numerous times, but unfortunately, my experience was very average. The prices do not justify the mediocre quality of the food served. I expect a higher standard from a place claiming to present Indian cuisine. " (*Curated Review*)
" I recently hosted a small gathering with takeout from Darbar, thinking I would treat my guests to some delicious Indian food. Sadly, the dishes were bland and left the guests unsatisfied. After reading the previous reviews, I feel one of them nailed it: the food is not a true representation of Indian cuisine. It’s a shame because the owner appears genuinely passionate. " I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of Indian food, so when I went to Darbar, I expected some authentic dishes. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite. The dishes tasted like they were modified to suit western palates - overly sweet and lacking depth. For example, the korma was like something you'd find at a non-Indian fast-casual restaurant. Not impressed at all. " (*Curated Review*)
" Having heard various opinions about Darbar, I decided to give it a shot with some friends last week. To put it simply, it was underwhelming. My friends and I each ordered different items, and every plate seemed to lack spice and flavor. The samosas were particularly disappointing, with a bland filling. " (*Curated Review*)
" While my visit wasn’t a total disaster, I was left feeling disappointed with the distinct lack of authentic flavors at Darbar. The service was decent but the food needs a revamp to bring it in line with true Indian cuisine standards. I hope they can improve because the place has potential. " (*Curated Review*)
" On my most recent visit, I was quite let down at Darbar. The chutneys did not have the freshness one expects, and the curry just had no punch to it. Mind you, the staff were attentive and polite, but when ‘Indian’ food lacks spice and flavor, it's a hard pass for me. " (*Curated Review*)
