" Disappointing visit overall. The food at Yolo did not live up to expectations. While I’ve come across many culinary gems lately, this one missed the mark. The flavors felt bland, and I felt a little let down after hearing so much hype. The setting was reasonably pleasant but a tad cramped. I also found the service lacking in attentiveness; it took far too long for our server to check on us. Exhausted after my experience, I don’t think I plan to return any time soon. " Just had dinner at Yolo and, wow, it was fantastic! I was treated to some of the tastiest mole I've ever had outside of Mexico. The flavors were deep and complex, pairing wonderfully with the soft tortillas. The atmosphere was intimate, making it a great spot for date night or catching up with friends. Communication with the staff was great; they were helpful and made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. " A lovely little gem in Skokie. I first visited Yolo about a year ago and have returned multiple times since; each visit is as delightful as the last. I find that the dishes maintain a high level of authenticity, as one of my favorite items is the mole, which tastes as good as my grandmother’s recipe! The ambiance is cozy, and I always feel welcomed. Perfect for a casual dinner or intimate evening with friends. Keep in mind it's BYOB and cash only, but that only adds to its charm.
