Kuro-Obi Ramen CK by Ippudo offers a variety of flavorful ramen dishes that many patrons praise as authentic. However, the portion sizes have drawn criticism for being smaller than typical expectations for the price, which can detract from the overall experience. Despite concerns regarding portion and pricing, the quality of ramen has kept customers returning.

" My experience was a mix of highs and lows. On one hand, the ramen was genuinely tasty—the broth had outstanding depth, and the toppings were fresh. On the other hand, I felt slightly short-changed on the portion size. Given NYC prices, I expected more bang for my buck. While I can see why people might rave about it, I can't fully support the hype due to the portion problem. Overall a satisfying meal, but there are better options elsewhere for the money. " I was really looking forward to trying Kuro-Obi's ramen because of all the positive reviews, but I left feeling disappointed. The ramen was okay, but I'm not convinced about its authenticity. The flavors were mild, and the noodles were cooked a bit too hard for my liking. To top it off, the price point seemed hefty for what I had. I am unsure if I would come back, especially with so many other ramen places out there. Rating: 2 Overall: 2 Authenticity: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Portion: 1 " (*Curated Review*)
" On a recent visit, I was compelled to try Kuro-Obi given all the buzz I'd heard. I ordered the chicken broth ramen and asked that it be made without pork. When it arrived, I was disheartened to find it contained pork anyway, which is a significant dietary concern for me. The noodles were rather firm—almost chewy—which I did not enjoy. Additionally, the portion was very small for the hefty price tag. It's disconcerting when a place prided on its authenticity makes such basic mistakes in food prep. While I loved the flavors of the broth, I don't think I can recommend it unless they sort out their ingredient consistency and portion issues. " I recently checked out Kuro-Obi when I was in NYC. I went for the traditional soy sauce ramen and was blown away by the broth flavor! It’s definitely some of the better ramen I’ve had, but again, the portion left a bit to be desired. It’s located in a busy area too, so don’t expect an elegant dining experience. In fact, the seating is quite cramped due to it being a food hall. In any case, the food was definitely worth it! Just be prepared for a quick bite rather than a long meal. " I had high hopes for Kuro-Obi and was not disappointed! The flavors were stellar, a true homage to authentic ramen without feeling too far from tradition. The only downside was the portion size—expected quite a bit more for the price. But if you’re looking for a delicious, authentic ramen experience in Times Square, give this place a shot! " Decided to have dinner here after seeing numerous good reviews. The ramen did come quickly, but I found the flavor disappointing. I had mixed feelings about the broth being rather salty and the ramen noodles themselves felt undercooked. It didn’t live up to my expectations overall. I only finished half and ended up opting for dessert elsewhere. Rating: 2 Overall: 2 Authenticity: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Portion: 2 " (*Curated Review*)
" Ramen lovers will appreciate a visit to Kuro-Obi. It's located in a lively food hall, which gives it a unique flair. The bowl I had was bright and flavorful—but again, portion sizes left me wanting. The service was fine; nothing particularly outstanding but adequate. I would say it’s a good option if you're in the area, but adjust your expectations regarding the serving size.
